1972 Gottlieb’s “Pop a Card” is a fun
filled, single player, Add a Ball vintage pinball machine.
This Card Themed pinball machine was freshly restored in early
August 2019 and it is ready for your game room. It is the rare New
York version of Gottlieb’s fabulous Drop a Card. Win extra balls
(WOW’s) and add up to ten extra balls at a time. The
last Pop a Card Pinrescue restored was 5 years ago so don’t miss out
on this one. Super condition playfield with all new drop targets,
posts, rubbers, pop bumpers, lamps, flippers, bulls eye targets and
star rollovers are all new parts. Pinrescue also replaced the
flipper buttons, bats, coils, links, levers, plungers, end of stroke
switches, shafts, bushings and return springs. Every part of both
flippers are brand new and play like day one. Same goes for
the pop bumpers caps, bodies, rod and rings, skirts, mylar trim
platters, plungers, links, spoon switches and return springs again
all new. Does it cost us more to replace all the moving parts in
your pinball machine? You bet it does but when you play a freshly
rebuilt Gottlieb it is like taking a time machine back to the 70’s.
Excellent near mint original art glass, very good cabinet
professionally touched up and it looks great with new coin entries,
good original coin door, new legs, bolts, levelers, playfield glass
and locks again all new. Restoration completed August 2019.
Things that were happening in 1972 when this very
nice Pop a Card was new: Volkswagen sells it’s 15,007,034 Beetle
outselling the old record holder, the Ford model T. VW just
produced the last third generation Bug on July 9, 2019 in Puebla
Mexico. The end of an 80 year run! No one has made any
Electro-mechanical pinball machines since 1979 that was 40 years
ago. That makes finding great examples from 1972, like this
beautiful Pop a Card, harder and harder every year.
In the 1972 World Series of Poker 8 players ponied up
$5,000 each and Binion’s Horseshoe Casino added $5,000 each to
increase interest. Hard to believe when the 2018 WSOP drew over
6,000 players.
Don’t wait another couple of decades to get a vintage
pinball machine because they all might be gone. Great features
found on Pop a Card:
Two brand new pop bumpers
Two brand new flippers
Make any bank of card drop targets to light the Wow
and add balls (up to ten)
Each completed bank 2-5 6-9 or 10 – Ace resets after
each ball in play
Win extra balls at 30,000 and 60,000 points
Pinrescue has safely shipped to over 40 of the 50 states,
